  • green tea vs matcha

In both diet pills and in drinks I've seen green tea and matcha green tea. Are they the same thing or is there a difference? Matcha seems to be more expensive.

There is a difference beyond the price. Unlike regular green tea, when you consume matcha you're consume the entire leaf, which has been ground down into a fine powder. Due to this fact, Matcha typically contains a stronger dose of the nutrients and benefits of green tea (ex. more caffeine, more antioxidants, more polyphenols, etc.) This could mean that matcha's fat-burning potential is higher than traditional green tea.

I think matcha is just a more potent version of regular green tea but it's also a lot more expensive. Personally, I don't think it's worth the extra cash. I'm happy with my traditional green tea.

I could be very wrong, but I thought Matcha is just green tea that is ground up into a really fine powder so you actually drink it in the water instead of soaking it and removing the leaves. I don't know. I've never actually had it.
