  • Prescription diet pill and food conflicts?

I know a lot of prescription medications have conflicts with regular foods. Like grapefruits can’t be eaten when you’re on blood pressure meds. Are there conflicts like that with prescript diet pills?

There probably are. The information that comes with the medication should provide you with a list of things to avoid. I would also ask your doctor. For sure, alcohol should be avoided, because it can mess with the effectiveness of the drug. I've also heard that if you are taking Orlistat, it's recommended that you avoid foods high in fat because this could lead to unpleasant side effects considering its a fat blocker.

Your pharmacist can also give you a lot of good information about possible drug interactions.

Honestly, the best way to determine that is to read what the instructions say, read up about the drug online and talk to you doctor and/or pharmacist.
