Are Phentermine and Adipex the same thing?

Hello. I have heard that Phentermine and Adipex are the same prescription weight loss drug. Is this true? If so, are there other prescription drugs out there that are also the same as Phentermine but under a different name? Thanks.

Yes, Phentermine and Adipex are the same drug. Essentially, the only differences between them is their names and the fact that Adipex is a brand name and Phentermine is the generic drug name. Other brand name Phentermine drugs include: Ionamin, Obephen, and Phentromin. There are many others.
