  • What are some healthier butter alternatives for Christmas cookies?

Is there anything I can use instead of butter in christmas cookies as alternatives that will make it healthier. I'm hoping for something with less calories, but at the very least i want it to be a healthier ingredient that won't make things burn or taste weird like coconut oil does.

I guess oils would be an alternative? Olive and canola maybe. They won't taste the same, but they will provide the fat that will cause the reaction in the ingredients.

I think I would just use butter, which has a very distinct flavor in baking, but get the best quality I can, and choose recipes that don't use it too liberally. For recipes that use a ton of butter, I'll watch my portions when I eat it. Otherwise, you risk ruining the recipe you're trying to preserve in the first place. If the recipe isn't good enough to be worth preserving, then you likely don't need to make it and you can choose a healthier alternative anyway.
