  • Dark leafy greens

I know that when it comes to health foods, dark leafy green vegetables are among the top recommendations for a food/veggie you should be including in your diet. I'm curious as to why that is? What is it about dark green leafy vegetables that makes them so good for you?

Dark green leafies have a lot of nutrients in them, they're high in water, they're high in fiber, and they're low in calories. They have great things like calcium, selenium, and iron in them, among other things

They are high in minerals and fiber. Chlorophyll is in there, too, that's why they're so green.

Exactly what MadMike and TinaDancer said. They have a lot of nutrients and they are low in calories and high in water. It doesn't get much better than that. To get the most out of these greens, however, it's a good idea to eat them as fresh as possible and to buy organic.
