I know that exercise is really important to losing weight and that good diet pills tell you to exercise. But out of curiosity, if you don’t exercise, will any of them actually work?

It is quite possible that they could work, especially if they curb your appetite and you end up eating less. That said, exercise really is what is needed to burn off fat and calories. As KittyKat said the process would be slow and you’re likely to get no real satisfaction from any results you do achieve. If you wanna lose you gotta move.

I wish there was a diet pill that didn't require exercise to lose weight, but I don't think that's going to happen in my lifetime. You may lose a small amount of weight taking some pills, without exercise, over time, but you can achieve this same goal by eating less and not exercising, too.
