  • Does Hoodia work or not?

I’m getting sick to death of the song and dance I’m seeing on the internet aobut whether or not hoodia really works to suppress the appetite. That’s what I want to know about it. Will it stop me from getting hungry?

I don’t just believe the claims of the people who actually make the pills because of course they’re going to say it’s good. But the people who say it doesn’t work sound like angry fanatics.

So does it work or not? I want to know once and for all because I only want to use a natural product.

I tried Hoodia about a year ago and I didn't experience any difference in my weight. And when I mean Hoodia, I mean that P57 one, too. I took it as directed and I felt just as hungry as I did when I wasn't taking it. Maybe it just didn't work for me, and you'll have more luck with it. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it, but if you only want to take an all natural product, as long as you don't have an allergy to any of the ingredients, there probably isn't any harm in you trying it out for yourself. Just make sure it's from a reputable seller and manufacturer.

Hoodia never worked for me either. That stuff is all talk with no action. I didn't lose weight and I didn't feel less hungry either. Sorry I can't give you better news if you were hoping it would work for you envirotodd.

I tried it about a year ago and I think it did a bit, but not enough to be worth my money

Thanks guys! It looks like the consensus is that the stuff just doesn't work - or at least that it doesn't work very well. If I'm going to pay out the money for these things, I want them to make a good enough difference that it's worthwhile.

Can anyone recommend any other kind of natural supplement that will lead to appetite suppression? That's really the benefit that I want from it. I don't need to speed up my fat burning and all that crap. I'm sure that's great for some other types of diets, but I feel that as long as I don't over eat, I lose weight just fine. The problem is my hunger that makes me eat too much. Any ideas?

Hey enviroTodd, you may want to look into 5-HTP. I haven't personally tried it but I've been hearing a lot about it lately on TV. It's an all-natural appetite suppressant. Some people believe it's the best one. Apparently, 5-HTP is a chemical compound that's naturally produced by out bodies and helps to regulate mood cause it makes seitonin. It's sold as supplement, but you need to make sure that you get a good quality one that's pure. Hope that helps

I've tried 5-HTP and it's great. I wouldn't say that it's good for weight loss, but I have found that it helps to keep the weight off once it's gone. It's better for weight management than loss.

I've got two things to say about this 1- hoodia doesn't work. The regulations about the import/export of the plant are too tough to make it worthwhile for otc pill makers to get it because they'd have to charge too much to sell it. PLUS, any studies that have even mildly suggested that it may - inconclusively - have some effect on weight loss were testing the actual plant, not extracts or processed versions of it that are used in pills.

2- 5-HTP works great once you've lost the weight. it can also help when you're dieting to stop you from gaining back what you've lost.

Personally, I've never had any success with herbal non-chemical appetite suppressants. In my experience, if you're trying to stop something that is naturally occurring in your body, you won't find much success altering it with something that is also natural. You need something stronger than natural supplements can provide IMO. If natural products don't work for you, you can always try mind over matter. That technique has never worked for me either, but I don't believe it's because it couldn't, but because I never stayed committed to it. The mind is an amazing tool, especially when you are determined to use it to your advantage.
