  • Prescription diet pills – addictive?

I recently heard that one of the side effects of prescription diet pills is that they can be habit forming? Is this true?

Yes, they can be addictive because many of them contain ingredients that mimic amphetamines (or actually contain amphetamines). Any pill that contains chemicals that mess with your brains chemistry is bound to lead to problems. That’s why so many of them are only prescribed for the shirt time and require you to be monitored by your doctor.

They can be seriously addictive. Especially the ones that are like phentermine and the other appetite suppressants. You usually can't just stop it cold turkey. You have to ease yourself off it so that you can avoid side effects

Really? Well, I don’t like the sound of that. It’s bad enough they are linked to so many other bad side effects! The last thing I need is something else to be addicted too
