  • Is Fresh Corn on the Cob Healthy?

All the farmer's markets are selling fresh corn on the cob right now but is it actually healthy? I mean, it's essentially doused in butter and/or cheese. Is there enough nutrition in there to make it worthwhile?

THe trick is not to douse it in butter and cheese! Get a good spice rub, sprinkle it on and toss it on the grill for an extra minute, (30 seconds per side), to toast up the spices. So so good.

It's definitely healthy. It has lots of nutrients, even ones you don't get in a lot of other places. It's obviously high in fiber. Go ahead and use butter, just don't drown it. Use a bit. All you need is the taste, it doesn't have to be completely slimy. Enjoy!

Just eat it plain with a bit of sea salt on it. It's good all on its own when it's super fresh. You don't need anything to add to it.

Grill it, cut it off the cob and put it in everything from salads to tacos and everything in between. you'll be adding nutrition to whatever dish you choose. Fiber too.
