  • If I eat a small dessert every night, is that too much sugar?

    If I am reasonable all day long with what I eat, but then after dinner I have a packaged snack cake or a handful of cookies or a cupcake with frosting, am I having too much sugar every day? I don't drink any soda.

    Eat your small dessert. If you've been good all day, have your little dessert. If you feel deprived by your eating strategy, it won't be sustainable. If snowballs and Twinkies make a great end to your day and you've been doing great with your meals, dig in. Enjoy your life, enjoy your food.

      Yes! Eat Dessert! You'll be fine. Track your food so you'll know what you're doing, but yes. If you can't have a snack cake as your one treat thing per day, you're never going to want to keep living like that and you'll just dump the whole thing.

        If that's your main source of added sugar, you're probably just fine. Just keep your portion size small like you said.
