I have some pretty bad arthritis in my feet, hands and neck. Does anyone know of a good diet that can help with weight loss and some exercises that could be useful for weight loss and strengthening my body without making my arthritis worse? I have reached out to my doctor, but I'm a bit of a low priority because there's nothing seriously wrong with me. I've tried googling, too, and I'm having a hard time of making sense of what I'm finding, because a lot of it is trying to diagnose me with other medical conditions While I wait to hear from my doctor, any help, tips, suggestions or best guesses are welcome!

I think I'd recommend swimming as an exercise. A diet that includes foods like oats, nuts, oily fish and others that promote joint help should be best. Eggs, too. I'd have a talk with some kind of pain specialist even if you use telehealth. You might even see if you can find a physical therapist who specalizes in workouts for people dealing with arthritis and pain.

I also think swimming is a good form of exercise! It's gentle on the joints. Beyond getting in touch with a professional who can help you figure out what's best for your particular condition, I would also recommend that whatever exercise you do, make sure you are using the proper equipment and/or are wearing the proper equipment. For instance invest in a good pair of shoes, etc. Also try to avoid ingesting foods and beverages that can make inflammation worse, like alcohol, caffeine, sugar, etc.

Thanks! I have an appointment with my doctor (finally!). I appreciate the swimming suggestion, that never occurred to me, but you're right, that would definitely keep the stress off my joints as I use them.
