    I know that a lot of things are saying that you should drink something caffeinated before or after a workout so that you can get your energy up, but why do they say that you should eat protein within a few hours of a workout? To stop hunger?

    Ya. I think it's to stop hunger and to prevent you from suffering an energy crash.

      Stopping hunger is one reason and to keep your energy up, but it also helps your muscles to recover and grow. It's just really good for you

        I think it's also to feed muscles so that as calorie burning continues, it will not burn through muscles.

          I didn't know you were supposed to eat after you exercised. I had no idea that that would matter. If anything I thought it would be a good idea to wait a while before you eat. Are you supposed to eat protein right away or do you wait a while? Does that matter?
