  • Weight loss based on personality type?

Has anyone heard of the Personality Type Diet? Does this work or is this another one of those fad or wacky diets like the blood type diet? How could you possibly lose weight based on your personality?

I think the personality type diet is a fad diet. I think it's a total unproven nuisance that sounds like science but that is just another person's opinion of what should work. It doesn't think long term enough. Instead, it's just trying to cater to people who don't want to make any changes in their lives but still get great results.

I actually heard good things about this diet. I don't think it's a fad at all. I think it's a lifestyle diet. I think it was created by Dr. Kushner, who is a specialist in treating obesity. The premise behind the diet is to find out what your attitudes are toward eating and exercise and to discover these behaviors and work with them to find the type of diet plan that will work best with your particular lifestyle. I recommended getting the book and checking it out to see what it's all about.

I have to disagree. I think it's a fad disguised as a lifestyle diet. I think it's packaged as being appropriate for lots of different people and their behaviors but it's assuming people's behaviors can fit in a neat definition. It can't be kept up over the long term.

Interesting. Thanks for you opinions everyone. I think I might research it a little more to see what it's about and see if it's something I'm interested in, but I'll keep the fact that it's a fad diet in mind when I do!
