If you are trying to cut calories, it may seem like a good idea to skip a meal here and there, but in the long run this will only hinder your weight loss efforts, especially because when you allow yourself to get too hungry, you are far more likely to overeat, snack more, and make poor food choices to satisfy your cravings. You are more likely to ingest fewer calories if you eat three meals per day and have a couple of small snacks, instead of eating two large ones. Spread your eating throughout the day and don’t ever allow yourself to get too hungry.

Don’t skip meals to lose weight

Skipping meals is one of the worst things that you could possibly do to try to diet. You slow down your metabolism and then cause you to binge, as JokerzWild pointed out. That means that you do even more damage to your diet than you would if you just cheated a little bit. It's really not a good idea to do that, regardless because you slash your ability to keep up with the daily nutrients that you require. If you don't get proper nutrition, you won't be at your ideal weight loss level. Essentially, skipping a meal is like doing everything you can to ensure that your diet fails.

Fasting is not good for your body and it certainly isn’t good for weight loss. If you skip meals, you’ll only end up throwing your system off balance. Eat three meals, have a snack when you are hungry, and don’t eat before bed. Eat healthy foods and watch your porition sizes. That’s all there is to it.
