  • Best tunes to workout to for weight loss

I’ve heard a lot about beats per minute to get the most out of songs while you work out, so you won’t slow down when your music does, but I don’t know anything about calculating beats per minute. So can anyone tell me what I’m doing to find the best songs to work out to?

I just pick something that is up beat but not too fast. It really kind of depends what sort of workouts you're doing. For instance, if you're doing a fast run, you'll need songs with higher beats per minute compared to walking or a jog. I found this site https://songbpm.com/ which lets you type in any song and get the BPM of that song. This should help you to create the right playlist.

That's a cool site Janet, thanks for sharing.

Bethie, I find that a lot of up-tempo pop songs and even hip hop songs have the right kind of beat. Typically stuff in the rock, country, heavy metal, rap, dub-step and electronica genres aren't the right beat for a lot of exercises.

I found this wikihow site useful to calculate the BPM http://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-the...BPM)-of-a-Song. Another thing you can do is do a quick google search for the best songs to workout to. You'll find lots of music playlists that you might find helpful.

That is so cool. I should have guessed that people would not only have broken it down to the science of a song's beats and the impact it has on your workout, but that there would be online tools for it, too! How handy is that? Seriously, people are smart!
