  • When should surgery be an option to consider?

I've often wondered when people think it's appropriate to take the next step and choose surgical weight loss methods. What different surgeries are there for weight loss and when should you start asking your doctor about them?

Honestly, I think that it should be considered to be an option if you have reached the point that absolutely nothing else has worked. It is not easy and it involves lifestyle changes you will HAVE to stick to for the rest of your life or you could really put yourself in danger.

I agree with kentraver taranorth. Surgery is a very very serious decision & should always be considered ur last option. Surgery is serious & it involves risks. If u have reached the point where u are ready to give surgery a go then that means u have tried absolutely everything else & the potential benefits of the surgery outweigh all the risks. Also please remember that if u go through with the surgery u still have 2 watch what u eat & exercise. Surgery does not mean u wont ever gain the weight back. Please please talk 2 ur doctor & find out all of ur options first.

For me, surgery would never be an option.

I think I feel the same way. I'd have to be in dire need
