My best weight loss tip ever. When you think about making a change, ask yourself "can I do this forever? Do I want to do this forever?" If the answer is "no" then it likely won't help you.

Most definitely the question you need to ask yourself. It's one thing to want to do something or believe that you can do something in theory, and it's entirely another to actually do it and make it a lifestyle. For this reason, I find that taking baby steps is the best way to make changes. Several smaller changes over time seems to work better for me than making big changes all at once.
